Celebrating the Women Who Foster

International Women’s Day – 8 March 2026

At Three Circles Fostering, we know that fostering is built on dedication, patience, and an extraordinary amount of heart. On International Women’s Day this year, we are proud to celebrate the women across our community who make an immeasurable difference in the lives of children and young people every single day.

Women have always played a central role in fostering—whether as foster carers, social workers, trainers, administrators, therapists, or leaders. They bring empathy, resilience, advocacy, and quiet determination into spaces where stability and safety matter most. Today is about recognising that impact, celebrating their stories, and saying a heartfelt thank you.

The Everyday Heroes in Our Homes

Many of the women we work with are juggling multiple roles: carers, parents, partners, professionals, and mentors. Fostering is not something that switches off at the end of the day—it is woven into family life, routines, and relationships.

From late-night reassurance after a difficult day at school, to celebrating exam results, birthdays, and milestones that once felt out of reach, women in fostering are often the steady presence children lean on while rebuilding trust in adults and in themselves.

What makes this so powerful is not perfection—it’s persistence. It’s showing up again after a tough day. It’s listening without judgement. It’s creating a home where a child feels seen, safe, and believed in.

Why Representation Matters

International Women’s Day is not only about celebration—it is also about visibility and progress. When women’s contributions in fostering are recognised, it helps challenge stereotypes, inspire others to consider fostering, and reinforce the value of care-based professions that have historically been overlooked.

We are proud to see women from many different backgrounds, ages, cultures, and family structures represented across our community. Their diversity strengthens our organisation and enriches the experiences of the children we support.

Stories of Impact

Across Three Circles Fostering, we hear stories every week that remind us why this work matters: Hear from Hina and Rena about their fostering journeys:

These moments rarely make headlines—but they change lives.

A Thank You, Today and Always

This International Women’s Day, we want to say thank you to every woman in our fostering community:

  • Thank you for your patience when progress feels slow.

  • Thank you for your advocacy when children need their voice amplified.

  • Thank you for your warmth, humour, steadiness, and belief in brighter futures.

You are shaping lives in ways that will echo for years to come.

Could You Be the Next to Change a Life?

As we celebrate the incredible women already part of our fostering family, we also want to reach out to those who may be wondering whether fostering could be right for them.

Many of our carers never imagined themselves fostering at first. Some were inspired by their own childhoods, others by friends or family members who foster, and many simply felt a pull to make a difference. There is no single “type” of foster carer—we welcome people from all walks of life, whether you’re single, in a couple, working or retired, parenting already or not.

If you have a spare room, patience, and the capacity to care, you could offer a child something life-changing: safety, stability, and hope.

At Three Circles Fostering, we provide training, dedicated support, and a close-knit community every step of the way—because no one fosters alone.

Get in touch with us today to enquire about fostering with us.

From all of us at Three Circles Fostering: Happy International Women’s Day—and thank you for everything you do. 💜
