Mental Health Awareness Week 2025: The Power of Community
At Three Circles Fostering, supporting mental health and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. This year, Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from Monday 12th May to Sunday 18th May 2025, and we are proud to join organisations across the country in shining a light on the importance of mental health for everyone.
This Year’s Theme: Community
The theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 is community – something that feels especially close to home for us. Being part of a strong, supportive community can make all the difference to someone’s mental health. Whether it’s feeling connected at home, school, or work, communities give us the space to share, to heal, and to grow.
At a time when stress, isolation, and financial pressures are affecting so many, it’s more important than ever to show the power of standing together.
Why It Matters
Meaningful relationships and being part of a community boost emotional resilience and wellbeing. Communities offer not just practical help, but emotional support and a sense of belonging – vital in navigating life’s ups and downs.
Mental health affects us all, and Mental Health Awareness Week reminds us that by building supportive environments, we can reduce stigma, spark important conversations, and encourage people to seek help when they need it.
How You Can Get Involved
There are so many ways to be part of Mental Health Awareness Week:
Share your story: Whether it’s a small act of kindness or a time someone made a big difference, every story matters.
Start conversations: Talking openly about mental health helps break down barriers. Need a little help? There are brilliant conversation guides available.
Move it for mental health: Join the “31 Miles in May” challenge—walk, run, wheel, skip or cycle your way to better wellbeing!
Spread the word: Use posters, social media graphics, or even your email signature to show your support.
What We’re Doing at Three Circles
For our carers, young people and staff we have lots of resources on our carer login all about different mental health resources which are a great way of expanding our knowledge. They also help in understanding where to get help if we need it.
We know from experience that when we come together – to listen, to laugh, to support one another – we build something stronger than any one of us could alone.
Remember: There Is Power in Community
As we move through Mental Health Awareness Week, let's keep reminding each other: it’s okay to ask for help. It's okay to not be okay. And it’s absolutely okay to lean on your community for support.
Together, we can create a future where mental health support is everywhere – in our homes, our schools, and our workplaces.
Our ethos boils down to community. We believe that everyone—young people, foster carers, and staff—should feel seen, heard, and supported. Equality, respect, and connection are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why Mental Health Awareness Week resonates so strongly with us; it's a reminder that looking after each other’s wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility, and that no one should face life’s challenges alone.
