Wow, where did that month go?!?!? We were so happy to see the start of September…. August is always a funny month for us - because we do not run any training or support groups as families are away on holidays. So it was such a lovely change to have the office back to being busy and full of people. Our training calendar is now back in full swing - if you want to see what we have coming up - go to the carer login.
We have had a brilliant month here at Three Circles. There is a real buzz about the place as our Barnsley office gets busier. We have consulted loads of young people this month about their wishes and feelings and have had so many achievements to celebrate.
September is a month of change for lots of children and young people, with transitions to new schools, high schools, colleges etc. They have all handled these changes with such strength of character and many list their proudest moments this month as starting their new year group!
We ran a Macmillan coffee morning earlier in the month, you can read about this HERE. Not only did we have lots of fun, it was also a great opportunity for us all to get together. Many of the staff and carers from Three Circles have been personally affected by cancer in some way, so it was great to be able to get together and do something great for such a fantastic charity. It is safe to say that the cakes didn’t last very long…… surprisingly it wasn’t Tim that ate the majority! Nicki’s homemade brownies and Victoria's victoria sponge were the fave’s from the day.
Our awards day was the best day ever! It was amazing to see everybody together to recognise the achievements of young people. We have written a blog post about it so please check that out.
A lot of you may have noticed some massive wooden letters in the office when you were in through September. They are now safely stored away but many of you would have wondered what was going on….. Keep one eye on the blog as we will be writing up for those of you who are still curious.
The engagement team spent some time with the National Leaving Care Benchmarking Forum this month, sharing the work they do to support LGBTQ young people in care alongside the Proud Trust. It was great to share the work we have done in this area and to see others take this to their organisations.
Well, I am sure October will be just as busy and we can’t wait to get cracking. Anything you want to share for next month's roundup? Get in touch!
