We are currently recruiting foster carers in the Yorkshire area!

Supporting LGBT young people in care - a video with advice from young people

On Saturday the 9th July 2018 the KIC-out group met at the Proud Trust. This group is all about giving young people who identify within the lgbt umbrella a voice and to share best practice to professionals in caring settings.

LGBT + Proud Parenting 2017. Identity, Family, Equality

We will be in attendance at an event at the People's History Museum on Sunday from 10 am - 4.30 pm.

This event is for anyone interested in LGBT+ parenting including LGBT+ parents and their children, LGBT+ parents-to-be and their families and friends.

The programme includes guest speaker Professor Catherine Donovan from The University of Sunderland and a series of practical workshops, which will cover a range of subjects including:

  • Routes to parenthood
  • Legal advice
  • Parents and children’s wellbeing
  • Growing up with LGBT+ parents

There will be activities throughout the day for children and young people, and a free crèche available with limited places.  When the crèche is full you are welcome to bring your children into workshops.  You are welcome to come for part or all of the day.
