And the award goes to….

Three Circles Fostering awards season hit its apex Sunday afternoon with the 1st annual Awards ceremony. The nominations have been trickling in since January and it was time to announce the winners. Going into the evening there was a lot of speculation over just who would win the coveted special recognition awards.

‘Oscars’ was the theme. The Hallmark Hotel was the setting for this star-spangled event. Paparazzi were out in full force to try and capture some of the Three Circles heroes. The room was decorated Black and Gold, confetti scattered across the tables but more importantly over 205 young people, carers and family gathered in one place for one common goal. To celebrate the achievements of our Young people.

Magicians move from table to table performing close up magic that Sarah from accounts is still scratching her head about. Unfortunately for her and so many others, a magician never reveals his tricks.

The nominees are called up in small groups and collect at the front in between two 6 ft Oscar statuettes. Smile! A photographer snaps away. The next group comes to the front with more raucous applause. Smile! Click goes the photographer.

And the special recognition award goes to…

An engraved glass trophy goes to the winner of each category.

A final speech given by Tim thanking those for attending but even more so for an amazing year and just how easy it was to celebrate the achievements of so many outstanding young people. We cant agree more. A day that not unlike a wedding took months and months to prepare for, was  sadly over in a few hours, nobody could argue that it was not worth it.

In a system that can often be bogged down by the negatives of growing up, it is important that we collectively group together to celebrate the amazing, wonderful and darn right incredible stuff that makes our young people special. Every single person deserved their award and I hope they understand just how much we believe that.

In our eyes the young people who were nominated were literal celebrities and we were so glad we were able to honour them in this way.

Unfortunately the 1st annual awards ceremony is over for this year and it was a fantastic success. The only slight issue is that no one has seen Seb or Charlotte in the office since the event but we’ve heard that they’re OK… they just haven’t woken up.
