Social Worker – Fostering Recruitment, Assessment & Panel

Area: Office based in Wilmslow, Cheshire with travel across the North West

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum hours of work - full time

Car Allowance: £120 per month + mileage

Purpose of the Job:

Manage a workload of Foster Carers assessments across the North West and Yorkshire, adhering to clearly defined timescales and working in accordance with the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering Regulations 2011. The role will involve supporting the team at targeted recruitment and information events, undertaking initial visits to prospective foster carers, delivering the ‘Skills to Foster’ training with colleagues, supervision of external Form F assessors and undertaking file audits for families moving to Three Circles.

Supervising Social Worker – Fostering

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum hours of work - full time

Purpose of the job:

Three Circles Fostering is currently developing its carer base across areas North West, and is looking to recruit a Supervising Social Worker to join their dedicated and professional team. Supervising Social Workers are responsible for managing fostering resources in allocated areas, supervising, training and supporting foster carers and the children in their care. You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, have good IT skills and be flexible and able to travel throughout the area (car owner and driver essential). The post includes being available on a timetabled basis to provide an on call facility for foster carers and local authorities.

Applicants are required to be a qualified Social Worker and hold HCPC professional registration with recent experience in fostering and/or services for children. A good working knowledge of relevant legislation and their impact on fostering services is also essential.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and aspirations of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS, full employment history and reference checks.

 

Mentor Programme 

Are you interested in becoming a Three Circles Fostering Mentor? We would like to offer all young care leavers the opportunity to become a Mentor. The mentoring programme is an exciting role where you will help guide young people through their experience of living in care, give them valuable advice which can be used as they grow older and help them to prepare for independence by sharing experiences. The role is on an ad hoc basis and is paid £10/ hour.

Role Description

  • To run the Achieve programme alongside other Volunteer Mentors and Three Circles staff for young people in Three Circles’ care.

  • To play a key role in assisting in increasing young people's life skills.

  • To be a positive mentor to young people in care who are using the Three Circles programme.

  • To attend Three Circles events and to act as a positive role model at these events.
